Sakura

There is so much I want to say about the cherry blossoms in Tokyo. I am so blow away by them.

But, for now, I will leave only with pictures. It was a busy weekend, so here are three different locations.

First location: Kawasaki, about 30 west of Tokyo

what!?! you ask? there is more to the Kawasaki story

Next is Yaskuni shrine for night cherry blossom viewing and drinking.

somehow "beer goggles" doesn't just apply to the guy sitting next to you but also to the picture you take. I swear they were in focus at the time. Though for night time photography, I still don't think they are so bad.

and the next afternoon, while the rain held off, I headed to Ueno park and it was so mind blowing.

The picture of the sakura by the side of the river is just amazing. I like the other ones, too, but that one is just "Wow- flowery springtime explosion!"
Still wishing I'd been there...

Hey, I'm actually going over to DC this weekend to visit friends, and apparently they're having cherry blossom explosions as well, which I am quite looking forward to seeing. Yay for beauty!

Well, DC's cherry blossoms were not quite as grand as the ones in your pictures (or rather, they were a week before I showed up, I guess). Bummer.
